  • What is Early Deposit?

Early Deposit is a courtesy service with your Credit Union of Ohio account. Funds from eligible direct deposits may be made available in your account up to two (2) days early, automatically, and with no fee.

  • Is there a fee for Early Deposit?

No. Credit Union of Ohio does not charge a fee for Early Deposits.

Please note: You remain responsible and liable if any Early Deposit to your account is returned, rejected, or otherwise not received by CU of Ohio. Missing deposits may result in fees.

  • How do I sign up for Early Deposit?

Enrollment in Early Deposit is automatic with your Credit Union of Ohio account and any eligible direct deposit.

  • What counts as an eligible direct deposit to receive Early Deposits?

Examples of eligible direct deposits include payroll deposits, government benefits, tax refunds, and other similar payments.

Please note: Not all direct deposits will be eligible for Early Deposit, and additional direct deposit eligibility will be determined at the discretion of Credit Union of Ohio.

  • How long does it take to start receiving Early Deposits once my direct deposit is set up?

Some deposits may be considered Early Deposit eligible immediately, but some direct deposits may need to be made 1 or 2 times before future payments become eligible.

  • What happens if my direct deposit is returned, rejected, or otherwise not received by Credit Union of Ohio after I received the deposit early?

Typically, the money you receive from eligible Early Deposits should not be returned or rejected.

In the rare case that a deposit has been rejected, returned, or otherwise not received, the Early Deposit will be reversed and you may incur a fee.

  • Are Early Deposits exactly two (2) days early?

No. Early Deposits may be made up to a maximum of two (2) days early but are subject to vary. The exact timing for Early Deposits will depend on when Credit Union of Ohio receives payment instructions from the payor as well as standard fraud prevention or any limitations set on the amount to be made available early.

  • How do holidays or weekends affect Early Deposit?

Please check with your employer or government agency on their payment policy. If your normal deposit would fall on a holiday or weekend, most organizations make their payments the Friday or day before the holiday. The Early Deposit date will be determined based on the payment instructions Credit Union of Ohio receives.

  • Does Early Deposit impact payroll deductions?

Early Deposit will not impact any of your payroll deductions to make payments on loans or transfers between your Credit Union of Ohio accounts. Any deductions set up from your payroll deposits will still be made at the time of the Early Deposit.

  • Does Early Deposit affect my automatic transfers?

Any automatic transfers you have set up to send money from your Credit Union of Ohio account to another financial institution will not change. These transfers will still be made as scheduled.

  • Can I opt out of Early Deposit?

Early Deposit is a courtesy service provided by Credit Union of Ohio. Unfortunately, members may not opt out of Early Deposit.

  • Why does my deposit still show as pending?

Direct Deposits still showing as pending may be due to the Effective Date in the payment instructions being greater than 2 days away from when the payor provided us with the instructions. Once the Effective Date is within up  to 2 days, your eligible Early Deposits will be made.

  • Why did I receive my previous payroll deposits early, but my recent paycheck still hasn't been deposited?

Inconsistent or delayed Early Deposits of your paycheck are likely due to the timing at which Credit Union of Ohio receives payment instructions from the payor. Employers may not always submit their direct deposit information at the same time each pay period. Unfortunately, CU of Ohio is unable to make any deposits without receiving payment instructions.

If you would like to receive notifications when your deposits have been made, we encourage you to set up text alerts inside Online Banking or our Mobile App.

  • How do I set up direct deposit?

You’ll need to provide your employer with your account number and our routing number, 244077886. If you don’t know your account number, you can find it inside of Online Banking or our Mobile app, sending us a secure message, or by calling 800.443.5698.
